History and Farm

Our 300 Ha farm is situated against the foothills of the Drakenstein Mountains, just outside the picturesque town of Paarl. An ideal combination of granite-based soils and Mediterranean climate means we’ve found the perfect place to cultivate your favourite olive varieties. Here, for the past 50 years, olives have been handpicked at optimal ripeness, naturally cured and packed for the South African consumer.

At Buffet Olives, we believe in nurturing our local environment and its people as much as we can. Employees own equity in the business and are nurtured and motivated to grow with it.

The Anna Foundation

The youth is just as important, and therefore we support the Anna Foundation and its projects for our children on the farm. The Anna Foundation was initiated in 2005 when a remedial teacher named Anna Brom started teaching on a disadvantaged farm school and township school in Mpumalanga. Math’s and literacy proved to be a major issue at rural schools and the need was identified to invest time and resources within rural schools in South Africa. Today the Anna Foundation is an NGO with a clear vision to inspire youth with a positive vision for their own future and the future of the country. We have an Anna Foundation aftercare school facility on the farm, along with additional projects to help the children build a positive outlook on their future.
